So Moses extended his hand toward heaven, and there was absolute darkness ¹  throughout the land of Egypt for three days. ² 

When ¹  the layer of dew had evaporated, ²  there on the surface of the desert was a thin flaky substance, ³  thin like frost on the earth.

You are to hang it ¹  with gold hooks ²  on four posts of acacia wood overlaid with gold, set in ³  four silver bases.

You are to make its four horns ¹  on its four corners; its horns will be part of it, ²  and you are to overlay it with bronze.

He made for it four posts of acacia wood and overlaid them with gold, with gold hooks, ¹  and he cast for them four silver bases.

and its five posts and their hooks. He overlaid their tops ¹  and their bands with gold, but their five bases were bronze. ² 

with four posts and their four bronze bases. Their hooks and their bands were silver, and their tops were overlaid with silver.

Then they must put it with all its utensils in a covering of fine leather, and put it on a carrying beam. ¹ 

and a basket of bread made without yeast, cakes of fine flour mixed with olive oil, wafers made without yeast and smeared with olive oil, and their ¹  grain offering and their drink offerings. ² 

No longer may the Israelites approach the tent of meeting, or else they will bear their sin ¹  and die.

Abimelech chased him, and Gaal ¹  ran from him. Many Shechemites ²  fell wounded at the entrance of the gate.

His wife then took the covering and spread it over the top of the well and scattered some grain over it. No one was aware of what she had done.

Meanwhile the sky was covered with dark clouds, the wind blew, and there was a heavy rainstorm. Ahab rode toward ¹  Jezreel.

The prophet then went and stood by the road, waiting for the king. He also disguised himself by putting a bandage down over his eyes.

He made the courtyard of the priests and the large enclosure and its doors; ¹  he plated their doors with bronze.

Then Solomon offered burnt sacrifices to the Lord on the altar of the Lord which he had built in front of the temple’s porch. ¹ 

Do not cover their iniquity, and do not wipe out their sin from before them. For they have bitterly offended ¹  the builders! ² 

On the twenty-fourth day of this same month the Israelites assembled; they were fasting and wearing sackcloth, their heads covered with dust.

Let darkness and the deepest shadow ¹  claim it; ²  let a cloud settle on it; let whatever blackens the day ³  terrify it!

If a land ¹  has been given into the hand of a wicked man, ²  he covers ³  the faces of its judges; ⁴  if it is not he, then who is it? ⁵
