Jesus replied, ¹  “If anyone loves me, he will obey ²  my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and take up residence with him. ³ 

Remember what ¹  I told you, ‘A slave ²  is not greater than his master.’ ³  If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they obeyed ⁴  my word, they will obey ⁵  yours too.

We will be innocent if we carefully keep all these commandments ¹  before the Lord our God, just as he demands.” ² 

and to keep the Lord’s commandments and statutes that I am giving ¹  you today for your own good?

You must love the Lord your God and do what he requires; keep his statutes, ordinances, and commandments ¹  at all times.

For the thing is very near you – it is in your mouth and in your mind ¹  so that you can do it.

However, if you ¹  turn aside and do not obey, but are lured away to worship and serve other gods,

So now do as they say. ¹  But seriously warn ²  them and make them aware of the policies of the king who will rule over them.” ³ 

If you follow my instructions ¹  by obeying ²  my rules and regulations, just as your father David did, ³  then I will grant you long life.” ⁴ 

May you demonstrate wholehearted devotion to the Lord our God ¹  by following ²  his rules and obeying ³  his commandments, as you are presently doing.” ⁴ 

Only may the Lord give you insight and understanding when he places you in charge of Israel, so you may obey ¹  the law of the Lord your God.

Praise the Lord, you angels of his, you powerful warriors who carry out his decrees and obey his orders! ¹ 

The Lord said, ¹  “I appointed prophets as watchmen to warn you, ²  saying: ‘Pay attention to the warning sound of the trumpet!’” ³  But they said, “We will not pay attention!”

But your ancestors ¹  did not listen to me nor pay attention to me. They became obstinate ²  and were more wicked than even their own forefathers.’”

Then the Lord said to me, ¹  “When you tell them all this, they will not listen to you. When you call out to them, they will not respond to you.

This day ¹  I have told you what he said. ²  But you do not want to obey the Lord by doing what he sent me to tell you. ³ 

“Remember the law of my servant Moses, to whom at Horeb ¹  I gave rules and regulations for all Israel to obey. ² 

Therefore pay attention to what they tell you and do it. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they teach. ¹ 

As they went through the towns, ¹  they passed on ²  the decrees that had been decided on by the apostles and elders in Jerusalem ³  for the Gentile believers ⁴  to obey. ⁵ 

For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous before God, but those who do the law will be declared righteous. ¹
