Then Elkanah went back home to Ramah. But the boy was serving the Lord under the supervision of ¹  Eli the priest.

Jehoiachin ¹  took off his prison clothes and ate daily in the king’s presence for the rest of his life.

That day David first gave to Asaph and his colleagues this song of thanks to the Lord:

I will continually ¹  thank you when ²  you execute judgment; ³  I will rely ⁴  on you, ⁵  for your loyal followers know you are good. ⁶ 

then I was ¹  beside him as a master craftsman, ²  and I was his delight ³  day by day, rejoicing before him at all times,

It is better to live on a corner of the housetop ¹  than in a house in company ²  with a quarrelsome wife. ³

So ¹  the soldiers led him into the palace (that is, the governor’s residence) ²  and called together the whole cohort. ³ 

and also some women ¹  who had been healed of evil spirits and disabilities: ²  Mary ³  (called Magdalene), from whom seven demons had gone out,

and Joanna the wife of Cuza ¹  (Herod’s ²  household manager), ³  Susanna, and many others who provided for them ⁴  out of their own resources.

(Now about five thousand men ¹  were there.) ²  Then ³  he said to his disciples, “Have ⁴  them sit down in groups of about fifty each.”

Then ¹  a man from the crowd cried out, ²  “Teacher, I beg you to look at ³  my son – he is my only child!

I am telling you the things I have seen while with the ¹  Father; ²  as for you, ³  practice the things you have heard from the ⁴  Father!”

Thus one of the men ¹  who have accompanied us during all the time the Lord Jesus associated with ²  us,

because he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith, and a significant number of people ¹  were brought to the Lord.

The ¹  city was filled with the uproar, ²  and the crowd ³  rushed to the theater ⁴  together, ⁵  dragging with them Gaius and Aristarchus, the Macedonians who were Paul’s traveling companions.
