“If I testify about myself, my testimony is not true.

So the Pharisees ¹  objected, ²  “You testify about yourself; your testimony is not true!” ³ 

It is written in your law that the testimony of two men is true. ¹ 

There is another ¹  who testifies about me, and I know the testimony he testifies about me is true.

For a will takes effect only at death, since it carries no force while the one who made it is alive.

Jesus answered, ¹  “Even if I testify about myself, my testimony is true, because I know where I came from and where I am going. But you people ²  do not know where I came from or where I am going. ³ 

For if the message spoken through angels ¹  proved to be so firm that every violation ²  or disobedience received its just penalty,

He will vindicate you in broad daylight, and publicly defend your just cause. ¹ 

Like an earring of gold and an ornament of fine gold, ¹  so is a wise reprover to the ear of the one who listens. ² 

and said, “This is the blood of the covenant that God has commanded you to keep.” ¹ 

But if her husband remains completely silent ¹  about her from day to day, he thus confirms all her vows or all her obligations which she is under; he confirms them because he remained silent about when he heard them.

Absalom would then say to him, “Look, your claims are legitimate and appropriate. ¹  But there is no representative of the king who will listen to you.”

Speak up again with the message of the Lord who rules over all: ‘My cities will once more overflow with prosperity, and once more the Lord will comfort Zion and validate his choice of Jerusalem.’”

They went out and proclaimed everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the word through the accompanying signs.]]

But if I judge, my evaluation is accurate, ¹  because I am not alone when I judge, ²  but I and the Father who sent me do so together. ³ 

He said this ¹  to fulfill the word he had spoken, ²  “I have not lost a single one of those whom you gave me.” ³ 

But as God’s servants, ¹  we have commended ourselves in every way, ²  with great endurance, in persecutions, ³  in difficulties, in distresses,

Now an intermediary is not for one party alone, but God is one. ¹ 

while God confirmed their witness ¹  with signs and wonders and various miracles and gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed ²  according to his will.

So Joseph made it a statute, ¹  which is in effect ²  to this day throughout the land of Egypt: One-fifth belongs to Pharaoh. Only the land of the priests did not become Pharaoh’s.
