But I was personally ¹  unknown to the churches of Judea that are in Christ.

For as I went around and observed closely your objects of worship, ¹  I even found an altar with this inscription: ²  ‘To an unknown god.’ Therefore what you worship without knowing it, ³  this I proclaim to you.

as unknown, and yet well-known; as dying and yet – see! – we continue to live; as those who are scourged ¹  and yet not executed;

The previous abundance of the land will not be remembered ¹  because of the famine that follows, for the famine will be very severe. ² 

Not all have gifts of healing, do they? Not all speak in tongues, do they? Not all interpret, do they? ¹ 

So then, one who speaks in a tongue should pray that he may interpret.

If ¹  I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unproductive.

a light, ¹  for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory ²  to your people Israel.”

Show hospitality ¹  to one another without complaining.

to another performance of miracles, to another prophecy, and to another discernment of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues.

For the one speaking in a tongue does not speak to people but to God, for no one understands; he is speaking mysteries by the Spirit. ¹ 

Now, brothers and sisters, ¹  if I come to you speaking in tongues, how will I help you unless I speak to you with a revelation or with knowledge or prophecy or teaching?

but in the church I want to speak five words with my mind to instruct others, rather than ten thousand words in a tongue.

So if the whole church comes together and all speak in tongues, and unbelievers or uninformed people enter, will they not say that you have lost your minds?

If someone speaks in a tongue, it should be two, or at the most three, one after the other, and someone must interpret.

Jacob also deceived ¹  Laban the Aramean by not telling him that he was leaving. ² 

Egypt will not be able to do a thing, head or tail, shoots and stalk. ¹ 

For with mocking lips and a foreign tongue he will speak to these people. ¹ 

The boundary line will extend beyond that, straight west from there to the Hill of Gareb and then turn southward to Goah. ¹ 

I spelled out my law for him in great detail, but they regard it as something totally unknown ¹  to them!
