to execute judgment on ¹  all, and to convict every person ²  of all their thoroughly ungodly deeds ³  that they have committed, ⁴  and of all the harsh words that ungodly sinners have spoken against him.” ⁵ 

And if the righteous are barely saved, what will become of ¹  the ungodly and sinners? ² 

For they said to you, “In the end time there will come ¹  scoffers, propelled by their own ungodly desires.” ² 

Vindicate me, O God! Fight for me ²  against an ungodly nation! Deliver me ³  from deceitful and evil men! ⁴ 

and if he did not spare the ancient world, but did protect Noah, a herald of righteousness, along with seven others, ¹  when God ²  brought a flood on an ungodly world, ³ 

and if he turned to ashes the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah when he condemned them to destruction, ¹  having appointed ²  them to serve as an example ³  to future generations of the ungodly, ⁴ 

For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.

But by the same word the present heavens and earth have been reserved for fire, by being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly. ¹ 

God abandons me to evil ¹  men, ²  and throws ³  me into the hands of wicked men.

But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous, ¹  his faith is credited as righteousness.

Certainly ¹  the Lord guards the way of the godly, ²  but the way of the wicked ends in destruction. ³ 

Take a good look! This is what the wicked are like, ¹  those who always have it so easy and get richer and richer. ² 

If the righteous are recompensed on earth, ¹  how much more ²  the wicked sinner! ³ 

realizing that law ¹  is not intended for a righteous person, but for lawless and rebellious people, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers,

The waves ¹  of death engulfed me, the currents ²  of chaos ³  overwhelmed me. ⁴ 

When I tripped, they taunted me relentlessly, ¹  and tried to bite me. ² 

How blessed ²  is the one ³  who does not follow ⁴  the advice ⁵  of the wicked, ⁶  or stand in the pathway ⁷  with sinners, or sit in the assembly ⁸  of scoffers! ⁹ 

Moreover, ¹  the Lord says, ²  “Both the prophets and priests are godless. I have even found them doing evil in my temple!

For certain men ¹  have secretly slipped in among you ²  – men who long ago ³  were marked out ⁴  for the condemnation I am about to describe ⁵  – ungodly men who have turned the grace of our God into a license for evil ⁶  and who deny our only Master ⁷  and Lord, ⁸  Jesus Christ.

The waves of death engulfed me; the currents ¹  of chaos ²  overwhelmed me. ³
