For you know quite well that the day of the Lord ¹  will come in the same way as a thief in the night. ² 

“But be on your guard ¹  so that your hearts are not weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of this life, and that day close down upon you suddenly like a trap. ² 

He does ¹  great and unsearchable ²  things, marvelous things without ³  number; ⁴ 

But God will shoot ¹  at them; suddenly they will be ²  wounded by an arrow. ³ 

or else he might find you asleep when he returns suddenly.

Therefore you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him. ¹ 

then the master of that slave will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not foresee,

Gideon went up the road of the nomads ¹  east of Nobah and Jogbehah and ambushed the surprised army. ²

Therefore, remember what you received and heard, ¹  and obey it, ²  and repent. If you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will never ³  know at what hour I will come against ⁴  you.

Then Absalom happened to come across David’s men. Now as Absalom was riding on his ¹  mule, it ²  went under the branches of a large oak tree. His head got caught in the oak and he was suspended in midair, ³  while the mule he had been riding kept going.
