This saying ¹  is trustworthy and deserves full acceptance.

The one who goes about slandering others ¹  reveals ²  secrets, but the one who is trustworthy ³  conceals a matter.

His acts are characterized by ¹  faithfulness and justice; all his precepts are reliable. ² 

With regard to the question about people who have never married, ¹  I have no command from the Lord, but I give my opinion as one shown mercy by the Lord to be trustworthy.

Now what is sought in stewards is that one be found faithful.

This saying ¹  is trustworthy: “If someone aspires to the office of overseer, ²  he desires a good work.”

He must hold firmly to the faithful message as it has been taught, ¹  so that he will be able to give exhortation in such healthy teaching ²  and correct those who speak against it.

The rules you impose are just, ¹  and absolutely reliable.
