A tranquil spirit ¹  revives the body, ²  but envy ³  is rottenness to the bones. ⁴ 

for they will provide ¹  a long and full life, ²  and they will add well-being ³  to you.

The Lord lift up his countenance upon you ¹  and give you peace.”’

Better is one handful with some rest than two hands full of toil ¹  and chasing the wind.

Therefore, O king, may my advice be pleasing to you. Break away from your sins by doing what is right, and from your iniquities by showing mercy to the poor. Perhaps your prosperity will be prolonged.” ¹ 

For he does not think ¹  much about the fleeting ²  days of his life because God keeps him preoccupied ³  with the joy he derives from his activity. ⁴ 

“I thought, ¹  ‘In the middle of my life ²  I must walk through the gates of Sheol, I am deprived ³  of the rest of my years.’

“Then there will arise in his place a despicable person ¹  to whom the royal honor has not been rightfully conferred. He will come on the scene in a time of prosperity and will seize the kingdom through deceit.

And the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds ¹  in Christ Jesus.

even for kings ¹  and all who are in authority, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.

but the inner person ¹  of the heart, the lasting beauty of a gentle and tranquil spirit, which is precious in God’s sight.

We were encouraged ¹  not only by his arrival, but also by the encouragement ²  you gave ³  him, as he reported to us your longing, your mourning, ⁴  your deep concern ⁵  for me, so that I rejoiced more than ever.

In a time of prosperity for the most productive areas of the province he will come and accomplish what neither his fathers nor their fathers accomplished. He will distribute loot, spoils, and property to his followers, and he will devise plans against fortified cities, but not for long. ¹
