Wild oxen will be slaughtered ¹  along with them, as well as strong bulls. ²  Their land is drenched with blood, their soil is covered with fat.

A jar full of sour wine ¹  was there, so they put a sponge soaked in sour wine on a branch of hyssop ²  and lifted it ³  to his mouth.

They are soaked by mountain rains and huddle ¹  in the rocks because they lack shelter.

Their slain will be left unburied, ¹  their corpses will stink; ²  the hills will soak up their blood. ³

You saturate ¹  its furrows, and soak ²  its plowed ground. ³  With rain showers you soften its soil, ⁴  and make its crops grow. ⁵

Sprinkle me ¹  with water ²  and I will be pure; ³  wash me ⁴  and I will be whiter than snow. ⁵ 

Do not let your heart envy ¹  sinners, but rather be zealous in fearing the Lord ²  all the time.
