This is the service of the families of Gershonites, as they serve ¹  and carry it.

He gave him ¹  the prescribed weight for all the gold items to be used in various types of service in the Lord’s temple, for all the silver items to be used in various types of service, ² 

and at the age of fifty years they must retire from performing the work and may no longer work.

Bakbukiah and Unni, ¹  their colleagues, stood opposite them in the services.

Yet they will become his subjects, so they can experience how serving me differs from serving the surrounding nations.” ¹ 

And there are different ministries, but the same Lord.

Deliver to ¹  the God of Jerusalem the vessels that are given to you for the service of the temple of your God.

He gave him the regulations ¹  for the divisions of priests and Levites, for all the assigned responsibilities within the Lord’s temple, and for all the items used in the service of the Lord’s temple.

Obey ¹  with enthusiasm, as though serving the Lord ²  and not people,

This is the service of the families of the Merarites, their entire service concerning the tent of meeting, under the authority of Ithamar son of Aaron the priest.”

See, I have given the Levites all the tithes in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they perform – the service of the tent of meeting.

So the Levites no longer need to carry the tabernacle or any of the items used in its service.”

He appointed the priests to fulfill their duties and encouraged them to carry out their service in the Lord’s temple.

Preparations were made, ¹  and the priests stood at their posts and the Levites in their divisions as prescribed by the king.

They appointed the priests by their divisions and the Levites by their divisions over the worship of God at Jerusalem, ¹  in accord with ²  the book of Moses.

“Receive these gifts ¹  from them, that they may be ²  used in doing the work ³  of the tent of meeting; and you must give them to the Levites, to every man ⁴  as his service requires.” ⁵ 

They performed the service of their God and the service of purification, along with the singers and gatekeepers, according to the commandment of David and ¹  his son Solomon.

Their job was to help Aaron’s descendants in the service of the Lord’s temple. They were to take care of the courtyards, the rooms, ceremonial purification of all holy items, and other jobs related to the service of God’s temple. ¹ 

They made their lives bitter ¹  by ²  hard service with mortar and bricks and by all kinds of service ³  in the fields. Every kind of service the Israelites were required to give was rigorous. ⁴ 

He gave two carts and four oxen to the Gershonites, as their service required;
