The Israelites followed in the sinful ways of Jeroboam son of Nebat and did not repudiate ¹  them.

You have repudiated ¹  your covenant with your servant; ²  you have thrown his crown to the ground. ³ 

So I defiled your holy princes, and handed Jacob over to destruction, and subjected ¹  Israel to humiliating abuse.”

And if she divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery.” ¹ 

But first he must ¹  suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.

Because Joseph, her husband to be, ¹  was a righteous man, and because he did not want to disgrace her, he intended to divorce her ²  privately.

For this reason I tell you, people will be forgiven for every sin and blasphemy, ¹  but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.
