“The one who listens ¹  to you listens to me, ²  and the one who rejects you rejects me, and the one who rejects me rejects ³  the one who sent me.” ⁴ 

They are regarded as ‘rejected silver’ ¹  because the Lord rejects them.”

Samuel said to Saul, “I will not go back with you, for you have rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord has rejected you from being king over Israel!”

The Lord said to Samuel, “Do everything the people request of you. ¹  For it is not you that they have rejected, but it is me that they have rejected as their king.

The stone which the builders discarded ¹  has become the cornerstone. ² 

unless ¹  you have utterly rejected us ²  and are angry with us beyond measure. ³ 

But first he must ¹  suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.

But Israel has rejected what is morally good; so an enemy will pursue him.

Consequently the one who rejects this is not rejecting human authority ¹  but God, who gives his Holy Spirit to you.

He rejected the tent of Joseph; he did not choose the tribe of Ephraim.

This Jesus ¹  is the stone that was rejected by you, ²  the builders, that has become the cornerstone. ³ 

כ (Kaf) For the Lord ¹  will not reject us forever. ² 

The king responded to the people harshly. He ¹  rejected the advice of the older men

“Surely, God does not reject a blameless man, ¹  nor does he grasp the hand ²  of the evildoers.

But you have spurned ¹  and rejected him; you are angry with your chosen king. ² 

So the Lord rejected all of Israel’s descendants; he humiliated ¹  them and handed them over to robbers, until he had thrown them from his presence.

So, mourn, ¹  you people of this nation. ²  Cut off your hair and throw it away. Sing a song of mourning on the hilltops. For the Lord has decided to reject ³  and forsake this generation that has provoked his wrath!’” ⁴ 

However, the Pharisees ¹  and the experts in religious law ²  rejected God’s purpose ³  for themselves, because they had not been baptized ⁴  by John. ⁵ ) ⁶ 

You have destroyed ¹  my people by failing to acknowledge me! Because you refuse to acknowledge me, ²  I will reject you as my priests. Because you reject ³  the law of your God, I will reject ⁴  your descendants.
