As in water the face is reflected as a face, ¹  so a person’s heart ²  reflects the person.

For a man should not have his head covered, since he is the image and glory of God. But the woman is the glory of the man.

And we all, with unveiled faces reflecting the glory of the Lord, ¹  are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another, ²  which is from ³  the Lord, who is the Spirit. ⁴ 

It is a snare ¹  for a person ²  to rashly cry, ³  “Holy!” and only afterward to consider ⁴  what he has vowed. ⁵ 

whenever ¹  I remember you on my bed, and think about you during the nighttime hours.

I will think about all you have done; I will reflect upon your deeds!”

If only I were predisposed ¹  to keep your statutes!

I will meditate on ¹  your precepts and focus ²  on your behavior. ³ 

Think about what I am saying and ¹  the Lord will give you understanding of all this. ² 

But as for you, communicate the behavior that goes with ¹  sound teaching.

will you, with him, spread out ¹  the clouds, solid as a mirror of molten metal?

I will praise ¹  the Lord who ²  guides ³  me; yes, during the night I reflect and learn. ⁴ 

We reflect on your loyal love, O God, within your temple.

and all people will fear. ¹  They will proclaim ²  what God has done, and reflect on his deeds.

I remember your name during the night, O Lord, and I will keep ¹  your law.

I recall the old days; ¹  I meditate on all you have done; I reflect on your accomplishments. ² 

When I saw this, I gave careful consideration to it; ¹  I received instruction from what I saw: ² 

I reflected on everything that is accomplished by man ¹  on earth, ²  and I concluded: Everything ³  he has accomplished ⁴  is futile ⁵  – like chasing the wind! ⁶ 

Sorrow ¹  is better than laughter, because sober reflection ²  is good for the heart. ³ 

¹ O Lord, reflect on ²  what has happened to us; consider ³  and look at ⁴  our disgrace.
