every raven after its species,

every kind of crow, ¹ 

He gives food to the animals, and to the young ravens when they chirp. ¹ 

and sent out a raven; it kept flying ¹  back and forth until the waters had dried up on the earth.

Drink from the stream; I have already told ¹  the ravens to bring you food ²  there.”

The ravens would bring him bread and meat each morning and evening, and he would drink from the stream.

Who prepares prey for the raven, when its young cry out to God and wander about ¹  for lack of food?

His head is like the most pure gold. ¹  His hair is curly ²  – black like a raven.

Benjamin is a ravenous wolf; in the morning devouring the prey, and in the evening dividing the plunder.”

The eye ¹  that mocks at a father and despises obeying ²  a mother – the ravens of the valley will peck it out and the young vultures will eat it. ³ 

Owls and wild animals ¹  will live there, ²  all kinds of wild birds ³  will settle in it. The Lord ⁴  will stretch out over her the measuring line of ruin and the plumb line ⁵  of destruction. ⁶ 

Consider the ravens: ¹  They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn, yet God feeds ²  them. How much more valuable are you than the birds!

They ¹  open their mouths to devour me ²  like a roaring lion that rips its prey. ³ 

“Watch out for false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are voracious wolves. ¹ 

No lions will be there, no ferocious wild animals will be on it ¹  – they will not be found there. Those delivered from bondage will travel on it,

“It did no good for me to punish your people. They did not respond to such correction. You slaughtered your prophets like a voracious lion.” ¹ 

I desperately long to know ¹  your regulations at all times.

They will all be left ¹  for the birds of the hills and the wild animals; ²  the birds will eat them during the summer, and all the wild animals will eat them during the winter.

You will fall dead on the mountains of Israel, you and all your troops and the people who are with you. I give you as food to every kind of bird and every wild beast.

Flocks and herds ¹  will lie down in the middle of it, as well as every kind of wild animal. ²  Owls ³  will sleep in the tops of its support pillars; they will hoot through the windows. ⁴  Rubble will cover the thresholds; ⁵  even the cedar work ⁶  will be exposed to the elements. ⁷
