Elihu said further: ² 

I have spoken once, but I cannot answer; twice, but I will say no more.” ¹ 

They are frightening and terrifying; they decide for themselves what is right. ¹ 

When he saw that this pleased the Jews, ¹  he proceeded to arrest Peter too. (This took place during the feast of Unleavened Bread.) ² 

But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these things defile a person.

I have seen another ¹  misfortune ²  on the earth: ³  It is an error a ruler makes. ⁴ 

and they began selling ¹  their property ²  and possessions and distributing the proceeds ³  to everyone, as anyone had need.

For there was no one needy ¹  among them, because those who were owners of land or houses were selling ²  them ³  and bringing the proceeds from the sales

I brought the leaders of Judah up on top of the wall, and I appointed two large choirs to give thanks. One was to proceed ¹  on the top of the wall southward toward the Dung Gate.

He ¹  kept back for himself part of the proceeds with his wife’s knowledge; he brought ²  only part of it and placed it at the apostles’ feet.

For from within, out of the human heart, come evil ideas, sexual immorality, theft, murder,

The Lord says, ¹  “These people are like soldiers who have readied their bows. Their tongues are always ready to shoot out lies. ²  They have become powerful in the land, but they have not done so by honest means. ³  Indeed, they do one evil thing after another ⁴  and do not pay attention to me. ⁵ 

They entered Jerusalem to the sound of stringed instruments and trumpets and proceeded to the temple of the Lord.

Abandon your foolish ways ¹  so that you may live, ²  and proceed ³  in the way of understanding.”

Is it not from the mouth of the Most High that everything comes – both calamity and blessing? ¹ 

The second choir was proceeding ¹  in the opposite direction. I followed them, along with half the people, on top of the wall, past the Tower of the Ovens to the Broad Wall,

When the Advocate ¹  comes, whom I will send you from the Father – the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father – he ²  will testify about me,

If a man ¹  makes a vow ²  to the Lord or takes an oath ³  of binding obligation on himself, ⁴  he must not break his word, but must do whatever he has promised. ⁵ 

But if her husband clearly nullifies ¹  them when he hears them, then whatever she says ²  by way of vows or obligations will not stand. Her husband has made them void, and the Lord will release her from them.
