A person with great anger bears the penalty, ¹  but if you deliver him from it once, you will have to do it again. ² 

You must bear your punishment for your obscene conduct and your abominable practices, declares the Lord.

and likewise the men also abandoned natural relations with women ¹  and were inflamed in their passions ²  for one another. Men ³  committed shameless acts with men and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

They will repay you for your obscene conduct, and you will be punished for idol worship. ¹  Then you will know that I am the sovereign Lord.”

I am confident ¹  in the Lord that you will accept no other view. ²  But the one who is confusing ³  you will pay the penalty, ⁴  whoever he may be.

When ¹  they had heard my case, ²  they wanted to release me, ³  because there was no basis for a death sentence ⁴  against me.

They ¹  will undergo the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his strength, ²

For if the message spoken through angels ¹  proved to be so firm that every violation ²  or disobedience received its just penalty,

and he must bring his penalty for guilt ¹  to the Lord for his sin that he has committed, a female from the flock, whether a female sheep or a female goat, for a sin offering. So the priest will make atonement ²  on his behalf for ³  his sin.

“‘If he cannot afford an animal from the flock, ¹  he must bring his penalty for guilt for his sin that he has committed, ²  two turtledoves or two young pigeons, ³  to the Lord, one for a sin offering and one for a burnt offering.

If ¹  your children sinned against him, he gave them over ²  to the penalty ³  of their sin.

¹ “Whoever strikes someone ²  so that he dies ³  must surely be put to death. ⁴ 

“Whoever strikes ¹  his father or his mother must surely be put to death.

“Whoever treats his father or his mother disgracefully ¹  must surely be put to death.

But if there is serious injury, then you will give a life for a life,

“Whoever has sexual relations ¹  with a beast must surely be put to death.

Rise up, O judge of the earth! Pay back the proud!

Judgments ¹  are prepared for scorners, and floggings for the backs of fools.

But ¹  he sternly ordered them not to make him known. ²
