But David captured the fortress of Zion (that is, the city of David).

Yet he took notice of their distress, when he heard their cry for help.

The residents of Jebus said to David, “You cannot invade this place!” But David captured the fortress of Zion (that is, the City of David).

The high places were not eliminated from Israel, yet Asa was wholeheartedly devoted to the Lord throughout his lifetime. ¹
