Each day Solomon’s royal court consumed ¹  thirty cors ²  of finely milled flour, sixty cors of cereal,

One day Elisha traveled to Shunem, where a prominent ¹  woman lived. She insisted that he stop for a meal. ²  So whenever he was passing through, he would stop in there for a meal. ³ 

The ¹  Pharisee was astonished when he saw that Jesus ²  did not first wash his hands ³  before the meal.

Then Jacob offered a sacrifice ¹  on the mountain and invited his relatives to eat the meal. ²  They ate the meal and spent the night on the mountain.

And see to it that no one becomes ¹  an immoral or godless person like Esau, who sold his own birthright for a single meal. ² 

You must give to the Lord some of the first of your finely ground flour as a raised offering in your future generations.

Pick up millstones and grind flour! Remove your veil, strip off your skirt, expose your legs, cross the streams!

She said, “As certainly as the Lord your God lives, I have no food, except for a handful of flour in a jar and a little olive oil in a jug. Right now I am gathering a couple of sticks for a fire. Then I’m going home to make one final meal for my son and myself. After we have eaten that, we will die of starvation.” ¹ 

The jar of flour was never empty and the jug of oil never ran out, just as the Lord had promised ¹  through Elijah.

He said, “Get some flour.” Then he threw it into the pot and said, “Now pour some out for the men so they may eat.” ¹  There was no longer anything harmful in the pot.

They sow the wind, and so they will reap the whirlwind! The stalk does not have any standing grain; it will not produce any flour. Even if it were to yield grain, foreigners would swallow it all up.

They got their gifts ready for Joseph’s arrival ¹  at noon, for they had heard ²  that they were to have a meal ³  there.

Better a meal of vegetables where there is love ¹  than a fattened ox where there is hatred. ² 

Thus they will provide the lamb, the grain offering, and the olive oil morning by morning, as a perpetual burnt offering.

He became hungry and wanted to eat, but while they were preparing the meal, a trance came over him. ¹ 

then ¹  the man must bring his wife to the priest, and he must bring the offering required for her, one tenth of an ephah of barley meal; he must not pour olive oil on it or put frankincense on it, because it is a grain offering of suspicion, ²  a grain offering for remembering, ³  for bringing ⁴  iniquity to remembrance.

He then said to him, “Come home with me and eat something.”

So ¹  the disciples did as Jesus had instructed them, and they prepared the Passover.

Show hospitality ¹  to one another without complaining.

So Abraham hurried into the tent and said to Sarah, “Quick! Take ¹  three measures ²  of fine flour, knead it, and make bread.” ³
