In the month Ziv ¹  of the fourth year of Solomon’s reign ²  the foundation was laid for the Lord’s temple.

On what ¹  were its bases ²  set, or who laid its cornerstone –

They stood these men before the apostles, who prayed ¹  and placed ²  their hands on them.

Then Peter and John placed their hands on the Samaritans, ¹  and they received the Holy Spirit. ² 

Then he presented the burnt offering ram and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the head of the ram,

He laid his hands on him and commissioned him, just as the Lord commanded, ¹  by the authority ²  of Moses.

Then they took hold of him ¹  and arrested him.

Finally they brought the goats for the sin offering before the king and the assembly, and they placed their hands on them.

“Where were you when I laid the foundation ¹  of the earth? Tell me, ²  if you possess understanding!

Some of them were wanting to seize him, but no one laid a hand on him. ¹ 

For no one can lay any foundation other than what is being laid, which is Jesus Christ.

For they have devoured Jacob and destroyed his home.

“Oh, ¹  if only my grief ²  could be weighed, ³  and my misfortune laid ⁴  on the scales too! ⁵ 

In earlier times you established the earth; the skies are your handiwork.

Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses saw where the body ¹  was placed.

The ¹  women who had accompanied Jesus ²  from Galilee followed, and they saw the tomb and how his body was laid in it.

He asked, ¹  “Where have you laid him?” ²  They replied, ³  “Lord, come and see.”

And so, because it was the Jewish day of preparation ¹  and the tomb was nearby, ²  they placed Jesus’ body there.

Then ¹  he took it down, wrapped it in a linen cloth, ²  and placed it ³  in a tomb cut out of the rock, ⁴  where no one had yet been buried. ⁵ 

Naomi took the child and placed him on her lap; ¹  she became his caregiver. ²
