A man named Barabbas was imprisoned with rebels who had committed murder during an insurrection.

(This ¹  was a man who had been thrown into prison for an insurrection ²  started in the city, and for murder.) ³ 

He released the man they asked for, who had been thrown in prison for insurrection and murder. But he handed Jesus over ¹  to their will. ² 

So I gave orders, ¹  and it was determined ²  that this city from long ago has been engaging in insurrection against kings. It has continually engaged in ³  rebellion and revolt.

And when you hear of wars and rebellions, ¹  do not be afraid. ²  For these things must happen first, but the end will not come at once.” ³ 

Hide me from the plots of evil men, from the crowd of evildoers. ¹ 

And if Satan rises against himself and is divided, he is not able to stand and his end has come.

Condemn them, ¹  O God! May their own schemes be their downfall! ²  Drive them away ³  because of their many acts of insurrection, ⁴  for they have rebelled against you.
