Jesus replied, ¹  “Are you saying this on your own initiative, ²  or have others told you about me?”

“And ¹  why don’t you judge for yourselves what is right?

Treat others ¹  in the same way that you would want them to treat you. ² 

Instead, pursue ¹  his ²  kingdom, ³  and these things will be given to you as well.

And Peter said, “Look, we have left everything we own ¹  to follow you!” ² 

For since death came through a man, ¹  the resurrection of the dead also came through a man. ² 

And no one assumes this honor ¹  on his own initiative, ²  but only when called to it by God, ³  as in fact Aaron was.

Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in me? ¹  The words that I say to you, I do not speak on my own initiative, ²  but the Father residing in me performs ³  his miraculous deeds. ⁴
