Now ¹  when the other ten ²  heard this, ³  they were angry with the two brothers.

When ¹  the disciples saw this, they became indignant and said, “Why this waste?

But some who were present indignantly said to one another, “Why this waste of expensive ¹  ointment?

Now ¹  when the other ten ²  heard this, ³  they became angry with James and John.

“Son of man, say to her: ‘You are a land that receives no rain ¹  or showers in the day of my anger.’ ² 

Pour out your judgment ¹  on them! May your raging anger ²  overtake them!

because of your anger and raging fury. Indeed, ¹  you pick me up and throw me away.

Rage takes hold of me because of the wicked, those who reject your law.

I did not spend my time in the company of other people, laughing and having a good time. I stayed to myself because I felt obligated to you ¹  and because I was filled with anger at what they had done.

You furiously stomp on the earth, you angrily trample down the nations.

No one can withstand ¹  his indignation! ²  No one can resist ³  his fierce anger! ⁴  His wrath is poured out like volcanic fire, boulders are broken up ⁵  as he approaches. ⁶ 

For very soon my fury ¹  will subside, and my anger will be directed toward their destruction.”

Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is led into sin, ¹  and I do not burn with indignation?

His raging anger lashed out against them, ¹  He sent fury, rage, and trouble as messengers who bring disaster. ² 

But when the chief priests and the experts in the law ¹  saw the wonderful things he did and heard the children crying out in the temple courts, ²  “Hosanna to the Son of David,” they became indignant

But the president of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the crowd, “There are six days on which work ¹  should be done! ²  So come ³  and be healed on those days, and not on the Sabbath day.”

God is a just judge; he is angry throughout the day. ¹ 

Assyria, the club I use to vent my anger, is as good as dead, ¹  a cudgel with which I angrily punish. ² 

but ¹  wrath and anger to those who live in selfish ambition ²  and do not obey the truth but follow ³  unrighteousness.

They come from a distant land, from the horizon. ¹  It is the Lord with his instruments of judgment, ²  coming to destroy the whole earth. ³
