They ¹  are dark ²  because of ice; snow is piled ³  up over them. ⁴ 

From whose womb does the ice emerge, and the frost from the sky, ¹  who gives birth to it,

The breath of God produces ice, and the breadth of the waters freeze solid.

He throws his hailstones ¹  like crumbs. Who can withstand the cold wind he sends? ² 

He then orders it all to melt; ¹  he breathes on it, ²  and the water flows.

He destroyed their vines with hail, and their sycamore-fig trees with driving rain.

Over the heads of the living beings was something like a platform, ¹  glittering awesomely like ice, ²  stretched out over their heads.

O fire and hail, snow and clouds, ¹  O stormy wind that carries out his orders, ² 

Only in the land of Goshen, where the Israelites lived, was there no hail.

From the brightness in front of him came coals of fire. ¹ 

when the waters become hard ¹  like stone, when the surface of the deep is frozen solid?

He rained hail down on their cattle, ¹  and hurled lightning bolts down on their livestock. ² 

He destroyed their vines and fig trees, and broke the trees throughout their territory.

On that day there will be no light – the sources of light in the heavens will congeal. ¹ 

When Moses extended ¹  his staff toward the sky, the Lord ²  sent thunder ³  and hail, and fire fell to the earth; ⁴  so the Lord caused hail to rain down on the land of Egypt.

And gigantic hailstones, weighing about a hundred pounds ¹  each, fell from heaven ²  on people, ³  but they ⁴  blasphemed God because of the plague of hail, since it ⁵  was so horrendous. ⁶ 

When ¹  the layer of dew had evaporated, ²  there on the surface of the desert was a thin flaky substance, ³  thin like frost on the earth.

Have you entered the storehouse ¹  of the snow, or seen the armory ²  of the hail,

From the brightness in front of him came hail and fiery coals. ¹ 

The Lord thundered ¹  in ²  the sky; the sovereign One ³  shouted. ⁴
