He marks out the horizon ¹  on the surface of the waters as a boundary between light and darkness.

When he established the heavens, I was there; when he marked out the horizon ¹  over the face of the deep,

Under the whole heaven he lets it go, even his lightning to the far corners ¹  of the earth.

They come from a distant land, from the horizon. ¹  It is the Lord with his instruments of judgment, ²  coming to destroy the whole earth. ³ 

Its measure is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.

If I were to fly away ¹  on the wings of the dawn, ²  and settle down on the other side ³  of the sea,

Who are these who float along ¹  like a cloud, who fly like doves to their shelters? ² 

Yes, my hand founded the earth; my right hand spread out the sky. I summon them; they stand together.

He will not grow rich, and his wealth will not endure, nor will his possessions ¹  spread over the land.

For the music director; a psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God; ²  the sky displays his handiwork. ³ 

As far as the eastern horizon ¹  is from the west, ²  so he removes the guilt of our rebellious actions ³  from us.

I realize that everything has its limits, but your commands are beyond full comprehension. ¹ 

before he made the earth and its fields, ¹  or the beginning ²  of the dust of the world.

As the heaven is high ¹  and the earth is deep so the hearts of kings are unsearchable. ² 

He is the one who sits on the earth’s horizon; ¹  its inhabitants are like grasshoppers before him. ²  He is the one who stretches out the sky like a thin curtain, ³  and spreads it out ⁴  like a pitched tent. ⁵ 

Indeed, ask about the distant past, starting from the day God created humankind ¹  on the earth, and ask ²  from one end of heaven to the other, whether there has ever been such a great thing as this, or even a rumor of it.

Yet its voice ¹  echoes ²  throughout the earth; its ³  words carry ⁴  to the distant horizon. ⁵  In the sky ⁶  he has pitched a tent for the sun. ⁷ 

It emerges from the distant horizon, ¹  and goes from one end of the sky to the other; ²  nothing can escape ³  its heat.

Sing to the Lord a brand new song! Praise him ¹  from the horizon of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and everything that lives in it, ²  you coastlands ³  and those who live there!

Honesty has disappeared; the one who tries to avoid evil is robbed. The Lord watches and is displeased, ¹  for there is no justice.
