You are to make the altar hollow, out of boards. Just as it was shown you ¹  on the mountain, so they must make it. ² 

He put the poles into the rings on the sides of the altar, with which to carry it. He made the altar ¹  hollow, out of boards.

Each of the pillars was about 27 feet ¹  high, about 18 feet ²  in circumference, three inches ³  thick, and hollow.
