The household ¹  of the wicked will be destroyed, but the tent ²  of the upright will flourish.

Planted in the Lord’s house, they grow in the courts of our God.

During his days the godly will flourish; ¹  peace will prevail as long as the moon remains in the sky. ² 

The one who trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous ¹  will flourish like a green leaf. ² 

in the morning it glistens ¹  and sprouts up; at evening time it withers ²  and dries up.

The godly ¹  grow like a palm tree; they grow high like a cedar in Lebanon. ² 

A person’s life is like grass. ¹  Like a flower in the field it flourishes,

Can the papyrus plant grow tall ¹  where there is no marsh? Can reeds flourish ²  without water?

May there be ¹  an abundance ²  of grain in the earth; on the tops ³  of the mountains may it ⁴  sway! ⁵  May its ⁶  fruit trees ⁷  flourish ⁸  like the forests of Lebanon! ⁹  May its crops be as abundant as the grass of the earth!

When the wicked sprout up like grass, and all the evildoers glisten, ¹  it is so that they may be annihilated. ² 

I will humiliate his enemies, ¹  and his crown will shine.

I constructed pools of water for myself, to irrigate my grove ¹  of flourishing trees.

(4:1) ¹  I, Nebuchadnezzar, was relaxing in my home, ²  living luxuriously ³  in my palace.

When you see this, you will be happy, ¹  and you will be revived. ²  The Lord will reveal his power to his servants and his anger to his enemies. ³ 

They bear fruit even when they are old; they are filled with vitality and have many leaves. ¹ 

Before his time ¹  he will be paid in full, ²  and his branches will not flourish. ³ 

People will reside again ¹  in his shade; they will plant and harvest grain in abundance. ²  They will blossom like a vine, and his fame will be like the wine from Lebanon.

How precious and fair! ¹  Grain will make the young men flourish and new wine the young women.

All the trees of the field will know that I am the Lord. I make the high tree low; I raise up the low tree. I make the green tree wither, and I make the dry tree sprout. I, the Lord, have spoken, and I will do it!’”

at the scent ¹  of water it will flourish ²  and put forth ³  shoots like a new plant.
