For you were made rich ¹  in every way in him, in all your speech and in every kind of knowledge ²  –

A generous person ¹  will be enriched, ²  and the one who provides water ³  for others ⁴  will himself be satisfied. ⁵ 

When your products went out from the seas, you satisfied many peoples; with the abundance of your wealth and merchandise you enriched the kings of the earth.

You will be enriched in every way so that you may be generous on every occasion, ¹  which is producing through us thanksgiving to God,

The greedy person ¹  stirs up dissension, ²  but the one who trusts ³  in the Lord will prosper. ⁴ 

You visit the earth and give it rain; ¹  you make it rich and fertile ²  with overflowing streams full of water. ³  You provide grain for them, ⁴  for you prepare the earth to yield its crops. ⁵ 

The men of Israel said, “Have you seen this man who is coming up? He does so ¹  to defy Israel. But the king will make the man who can strike him down very wealthy! He will give him his daughter in marriage, and he will make his father’s house exempt from tax obligations in Israel.”

Now if their transgression means riches for the world and their defeat means riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their full restoration ¹  bring?

For the company of the godless is barren, ¹  and fire ²  consumes the tents of those who accept bribes. ³ 

You sold ¹  your people for a pittance; ²  you did not ask a high price for them. ³ 

He brought his people ¹  out enriched ²  with silver and gold; none of his tribes stumbled.

lest strangers devour ¹  your strength, ²  and your labor ³  benefit ⁴  another man’s house.

The heart of her husband has confidence ¹  in her, and he has no lack of gain. ² 

Then in the fifth year you may eat its fruit to add its produce to your harvest. ¹  I am the Lord your God.

The one who oppresses the poor to increase his own gain and the one who gives to the rich ¹  – both end up only in poverty.

Lament, ¹  you residents of the coast, you merchants of Sidon ²  who travel over the sea, whose agents sail over

Wild oxen will be slaughtered ¹  along with them, as well as strong bulls. ²  Their land is drenched with blood, their soil is covered with fat.

as sorrowful, but always rejoicing, as poor, but making many rich, as having nothing, and yet possessing everything.

Or did I commit a sin by humbling myself ¹  so that you could be exalted, because I proclaimed ²  the gospel of God to you free of charge?

For you know the grace ¹  of our Lord Jesus Christ, that although he was rich, he became poor for your sakes, so that you by his poverty could become rich.
