Pay everyone what is owed: taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, honor to whom honor is due.

You must eat it in a holy place because it is your allotted portion ¹  and the allotted portion of your sons from the gifts ²  of the Lord, for this is what I have been commanded. ³ 

“You must not turn away justice for your poor people in their lawsuits.

Ascribe to the Lord the splendor he deserves! ¹  Bring an offering and enter his courts!

Acknowledge the majesty of the Lord’s reputation! ¹  Worship the Lord in holy attire! ² 

All of your creatures ¹  wait for you to provide them with food on a regular basis. ² 

Everything looks to you in anticipation, ¹  and you provide them with food on a regular basis. ² 

Do not withhold good from those who need it, ¹  when ²  you ³  have the ability ⁴  to help. ⁵ 

‘Cursed is the one who perverts justice for the resident foreigner, the orphan, and the widow.’ Then all the people will say, ‘Amen!’

Now to the one who works, his pay is not credited due to grace but due to obligation. ¹ 

This shall be the priests’ fair allotment ¹  from the people who offer sacrifices, whether bull or sheep – they must give to the priest the shoulder, the jowls, and the stomach.

Ascribe to the Lord the splendor he deserves! ¹  Bring an offering and enter his presence! Worship the Lord in holy attire! ² 

Who can really fathom the intensity of your anger? ¹  Your raging fury causes people to fear you. ² 

From all your gifts you must offer up every raised offering due ¹  the Lord, from all the best of it, and the holiest part of it.’ ² 

Everyone should revere you, O King of all nations, ¹  because you deserve to be revered. ²  For there is no one like you among any of the wise people of the nations nor among any of their kings. ³ 

So we must not grow weary ¹  in doing good, for in due time we will reap, if we do not give up. ² 

And God will exalt you in due time, ¹  if you humble yourselves under his mighty hand ² 

Also, the breast of the wave offering and the thigh of the contribution offering you must eat in a ceremonially ¹  clean place, you and your sons and daughters with you, for they have been given as your allotted portion and the allotted portion of your sons from the peace offering sacrifices of the Israelites. ² 

You must not pervert justice due a resident foreigner or an orphan, or take a widow’s garment as security for a loan.

I will get revenge and pay them back at the time their foot slips; for the day of their disaster is near, and the impending judgment ¹  is rushing upon them!”
