A continual dripping on a rainy day and a contentious wife ¹  are alike. ² 

A foolish child ¹  is the ruin of his father, and a contentious wife ²  is like ³  a constant dripping. ⁴ 

For the lips ¹  of the adulterous woman drip honey, and her seductive words ²  are smoother than olive oil,

I arose to open for my beloved; my hands dripped with myrrh – my fingers flowed with myrrh on the handles of the lock.

On that day ¹  the mountains will drip with sweet wine, ²  and the hills will flow with milk. ³  All the dry stream beds ⁴  of Judah will flow with water. A spring will flow out from the temple ⁵  of the Lord, watering the Valley of Acacia Trees. ⁶ 

They are of greater value ¹  than gold, than even a great amount of pure gold; they bring greater delight ²  than honey, than even the sweetest honey from a honeycomb.

His cheeks are like garden beds full of balsam trees ¹  yielding ²  perfume. His lips are like lilies dripping with drops of myrrh.

You crown the year with your good blessings, ¹  and you leave abundance in your wake. ² 

Eat honey, ¹  my child, for it is good, and honey from the honeycomb is sweet to your taste.

“Be sure of this, ¹  the time is ²  coming,” says the Lord, “when the plowman will catch up to the reaper ³  and the one who stomps the grapes ⁴  will overtake ⁵  the planter. ⁶  Juice will run down the slopes, ⁷  it will flow down all the hillsides. ⁸ 

The pastures in the wilderness glisten with moisture, ¹  and the hills are clothed with joy. ² 

By his knowledge the primordial sea ¹  was broken open, ²  and the clouds drip down dew. ³ 

Your lips drip sweetness like the honeycomb, my bride, honey and milk are under your tongue. The fragrance of your garments is like the fragrance of Lebanon.

When the army entered the forest, they saw ¹  the honey flowing, but no one ate any of it, ²  for the army was afraid of the oath.

which the clouds pour down and shower on humankind abundantly.

O Lord, when you departed ¹  from Seir, when you marched from Edom’s plains, the earth shook, the heavens poured down, the clouds poured down rain. ² 

Their venom is like that of a snake, ¹  like a deaf serpent ²  that does not hear, ³ 

Their tongues wound like a serpent; ¹  a viper’s ²  venom is behind ³  their lips. (Selah)

The tongue of the wise ¹  treats knowledge correctly, ²  but the mouth of the fool spouts out ³  folly.

“Watch out for false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are voracious wolves. ¹
