For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous before God, but those who do the law will be declared righteous. ¹ 

But be sure you live out the message and do not merely listen to it and so deceive yourselves.

For if someone merely listens to the message and does not live it out, he is like someone ¹  who gazes at his own face ²  in a mirror.

But the one who peers into the perfect law of liberty and fixes his attention there, ¹  and does not become a forgetful listener but one who lives it out – he ²  will be blessed in what he does. ³ 

Do not speak against one another, brothers and sisters. ¹  He who speaks against a fellow believer ²  or judges a fellow believer speaks against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but its judge. ³ 

“Surely, God does not reject a blameless man, ¹  nor does he grasp the hand ²  of the evildoers.

Each morning I will destroy all the wicked people in the land, and remove all evildoers from the city of the Lord.

I hate the mob ¹  of evil men, and do not associate ²  with the wicked.

There will be no prosperity for the wicked,” says the Lord.

There will be no prosperity,” says my God, “for the wicked.”

Thus the poor have hope, and iniquity ¹  shuts its mouth. ² 

Such is the destiny ¹  of all who forget God; the hope of the godless ²  perishes,

that the elation of the wicked is brief, ¹  the joy of the godless ²  lasts but a moment. ³ 

Is it not misfortune for the unjust, and disaster for those who work iniquity?

He goes about ¹  in company ²  with evildoers, he goes along ³  with wicked men. ⁴ 

He strikes them for their wickedness, ¹  in a place where people can see, ² 

Then ¹  they cry out – but he does not answer – because of the arrogance of the wicked.

Then from the wicked the light is withheld, and the arm raised in violence ¹  is broken. ² 

I can see the evildoers! They have fallen! ¹  They have been knocked down and are unable to get up! ² 

for evil men will lose their power, ¹  but the Lord sustains ²  the godly.
