Who set its measurements – if ¹  you know – or who stretched a measuring line across it?

Then he brought me to the north gate, and he measured it; it had the same dimensions as the others –

with a passage in front of them. They looked like the chambers on the north. Of the same length and width, and all their exits according to their arrangements and entrances

to godliness, brotherly affection; to brotherly affection, unselfish ¹  love. ² 

Then he led me toward the south. I saw ¹  a gate on the south. He measured its jambs and its porches; they had the same dimensions as the others.

Then he brought me to the inner court by the south gate. He measured the south gate; it had the same dimensions as the others.

Then he brought me to the inner court on the east side. He measured the gate; it had the same dimensions as the others.

For this reason the Jews seized me in the temple courts ¹  and were trying to kill me.

Its alcoves, its jambs, and its porches had the same dimensions as the others, and there were windows all around it and its porches; its length was 87½ feet ¹  and its width 43¾ feet. ² 

“And these are the measurements of the altar: ¹  Its base ²  is 1¾ feet ³  high, ⁴  and 1¾ feet ⁵  wide, and its border nine inches ⁶  on its edge. This is to be the height ⁷  of the altar.

these will be its measurements: The north side will be one and one-half miles, ¹  the south side one and one-half miles, the east side one and one-half miles, and the west side one and one-half miles.

Solomon laid the foundation for God’s temple; ¹  its length (determined according to the old standard of measure) was 90 feet, and its width 30 feet. ²
