After this, ¹  Jesus and his disciples came into Judean territory, and there he spent time with them and was baptizing.

At the sound of your captains’ cry the waves will surge; ¹ 

The Beloved to Her Lover: Come, my beloved, let us go to the countryside; let us spend the night in the villages.

When ¹  the herdsmen saw what had happened, they ran off and spread the news ²  in the town ³  and countryside.

The battle there was spread out over the whole area, and the forest consumed more soldiers than the sword devoured that day.

Send them away so that they can go into the surrounding countryside and villages and buy something for themselves to eat.”

Now the day began to draw to a close, ¹  so ²  the twelve came and said to Jesus, ³  “Send the crowd away, so they can go into the surrounding villages and countryside and find lodging ⁴  and food, because we are in an isolated place.” ⁵ 

And the news of this spread throughout that region. ¹ 

And wherever he would go – into villages, towns, or countryside – they would place the sick in the marketplaces, and would ask him if ¹  they could just touch the edge of his cloak, and all who touched it were healed.

People ¹  from the whole Judean countryside and all of Jerusalem ²  were going out to him, and he was baptizing them ³  in the Jordan River as they confessed their sins.

Now ¹  the herdsmen ran off and spread the news in the town and countryside, and the people went out to see what had happened.

Then ¹  Jesus, in the power of the Spirit, ²  returned to Galilee, and news about him spread ³  throughout the surrounding countryside. ⁴ 

When the Israelites had mustered and had received their supplies, they marched out to face them in battle. When the Israelites deployed opposite them, they were like two small flocks ¹  of goats, but the Syrians filled the land.

he gives ¹  rain on the earth, ²  and sends ³  water on the fields; ⁴ 

Look, we heard about it ¹  in Ephrathah, ²  we found it in the territory of Jaar. ³ 

he left Judea and set out once more for Galilee. ¹ 

The length of time ¹  that David lived in the Philistine countryside was a year ²  and four months.

He built high places for all his foreign wives so they could burn incense and make sacrifices to their gods. ¹ 

The singers ¹  were also assembled from the district around Jerusalem and from the settlements of the Netophathites

For to the snow he says, ‘Fall ¹  to earth,’ and to the torrential rains, ²  ‘Pour down.’ ³
