For otherwise would they not have ceased to be offered, since the worshipers would have been purified once for all and so have ¹  no further consciousness of sin?

For I am aware of ¹  my rebellious acts; I am forever conscious of my sin. ² 

For I am not aware of anything against myself, but I am not acquitted because of this. The one who judges me is the Lord.

But even if it were ¹  true that I have erred, ²  my error ³  remains solely my concern!

The godly bask in the light; the morally upright experience joy. ¹ 

For this reason do not be foolish, but be wise ¹  by understanding ²  what the Lord’s will is.

For you yourselves know, brothers and sisters, ¹  about our coming to you – it has not proven to be purposeless. ² 

For the living know that they will die, but the dead do not know anything; they have no further reward – and even the memory of them disappears. ¹
