So Joseph died at the age of 110. ¹  After they embalmed him, his body ²  was placed in a coffin in Egypt.

Then ¹  he came up ²  and touched ³  the bier, ⁴  and those who carried it stood still. He ⁵  said, “Young man, I say to you, get up!”

Her house is the way to the grave, ¹  going down ²  to the chambers ³  of death.

David instructed Joab and all the people who were with him, “Tear your clothes! Put on sackcloth! Lament before Abner!” Now King David followed ¹  behind the funeral bier.

before I depart, never to return, ¹  to the land of darkness and the deepest shadow, ² 

If ¹  I hope for the grave to be my home, if I spread out my bed in darkness,

He has made me reside in deepest darkness ¹  like those who died long ago.

Their grave becomes their permanent residence, their eternal dwelling place. ¹  They name their lands after themselves, ² 

For everything made evident is light, and for this reason it says: ¹  “Awake, ²  O sleeper! ³  Rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you!” ⁴
