Here’s how! ¹  With the sharp arrows of warriors, with arrowheads forged over the hot coals. ² 

Can ¹  a man walk on hot coals without scorching his feet?

Its breath sets coals ablaze and a flame shoots from its mouth.

From the brightness in front of him came coals of fire. ¹ 

for you will heap coals of fire on his head, ¹  and the Lord will reward you. ² 

From the brightness in front of him came hail and fiery coals. ¹ 

But then one of the seraphs flew toward me. In his hand was a hot coal he had taken from the altar with tongs.

Set the empty pot on the coals, ¹  until it becomes hot and its copper glows, until its uncleanness melts within it and its rot ²  is consumed.

May the Lord rain down ¹  burning coals ²  and brimstone ³  on the wicked! A whirlwind is what they deserve! ⁴ 

Smoke ascended from ¹  his nose; ²  fire devoured as it came from his mouth; ³  he hurled down fiery coals. ⁴ 

Look, I create the craftsman, who fans the coals into a fire and forges a weapon. ¹  I create the destroyer so he might devastate.

Like charcoal is to burning coals, and wood to fire, so is a contentious person ¹  to kindle strife. ² 

Smoke ascended from ¹  his nose; ²  fire devoured as it came from his mouth; ³  he hurled down fiery coals. ⁴ 

May he rain down ¹  fiery coals upon them! May he throw them into the fire! From bottomless pits they will not escape. ² 

Rather, if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing this you will be heaping burning coals on his head. ¹ 

and take a censer full of coals of fire from the altar before the Lord ¹  and a full double handful of finely ground fragrant incense, ²  and bring them inside the veil-canopy. ³ 

The Lord ¹  said to the man dressed in linen, “Go between the wheelwork ²  underneath the cherubim. ³  Fill your hands with burning coals from among the cherubim and scatter them over the city.” He went as I watched.

The Lord thundered ¹  in ²  the sky; the sovereign One ³  shouted. ⁴ 

When they got out on the beach, ¹  they saw a charcoal fire ready ²  with a fish placed on it, and bread.

In the middle ¹  of the living beings was something like ²  burning coals of fire ³  or like torches. It moved back and forth among the living beings. It was bright, and lightning was flashing out of the fire.
