But you yourselves wrong and cheat, and you do this to your brothers and sisters! ¹ 

but your father has humiliated ¹  me and changed my wages ten times. But God has not permitted him to do me any harm.

The fact that you have lawsuits among yourselves demonstrates that you have already been defeated. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated?

You must not do injustice in the regulation of measures, whether of length, weight, or volume. ¹ 

Disaster is within it; violence ¹  and deceit do not depart from its public square.

Can a person rob ¹  God? You indeed are robbing me, but you say, ‘How are we robbing you?’ In tithes and contributions! ² 

The Lord abhors ¹  dishonest scales, ²  but an accurate weight ³  is his elight.

The businessmen love to cheat; ¹  they use dishonest scales. ² 

You say, “When will the new moon festival ¹  be over, ²  so we can sell grain? When will the Sabbath end, ³  so we can open up the grain bins? ⁴  We’re eager ⁵  to sell less for a higher price, ⁶  and to cheat the buyer with rigged scales! ⁷ 

But Zacchaeus stopped and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord, half of my possessions I now give ¹  to the poor, and if ²  I have cheated anyone of anything, I am paying back four times as much!”

They replied, “You have not wronged us or oppressed us. You have not taken anything from the hand of anyone.”

“There will be harsh condemnation for the hypocrite who has a valuable male animal in his flock but vows and sacrifices something inferior to the Lord. For I am a great king,” ¹  says the Lord who rules over all, “and my name is awesome among the nations.”

I rashly declared, ¹  “All men are liars.”

The Lord abhors ¹  differing weights, and dishonest scales are wicked. ² 

Do not move an ancient boundary stone, or take over ¹  the fields of the fatherless,

The produce of the land is seized ¹  by all of them, even the king is served ²  by the fields. ³ 

You must not oppress your neighbor or commit robbery against him. ¹  You must not withhold ²  the wages of the hired laborer overnight until morning.

If you make a sale ¹  to your fellow citizen ²  or buy ³  from your fellow citizen, no one is to wrong his brother. ⁴ 

No one is to oppress his fellow citizen, ¹  but you must fear your God, because I am the Lord your God.

Everyone must be on his guard around his friends. He must not even trust any of his relatives. ¹  For every one of them will find some way to cheat him. ²  And all of his friends will tell lies about him.
