Such purity characterizes the people who seek his favor, Jacob’s descendants, who pray to him. ¹  (Selah)

Equity and justice are the foundation of your throne. ¹  Loyal love and faithfulness characterize your rule. ² 

His acts are characterized by ¹  faithfulness and justice; all his precepts are reliable. ² 

for God is not characterized by disorder but by peace. As in all the churches of the saints, ¹ 

But they did not repudiate ¹  the sinful ways of the family ²  of Jeroboam, who encouraged Israel to sin; they continued in those sins. ³  There was even an Asherah pole ⁴  standing in Samaria.

For everything that was written in former times was written for our instruction, so that through endurance and through encouragement of the scriptures we may have hope.

You were taught with reference to your former way of life to lay aside ¹  the old man who is being corrupted in accordance with deceitful desires,

But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, accommodating, ¹  full of mercy and good fruit, ²  impartial, and not hypocritical. ³
