His head is like the most pure gold. ¹  His hair is curly ²  – black like a raven.

Harnessed to the first chariot were red horses, to the second black horses,

I can clothe the sky in darkness; I can cover it with sackcloth.”

Do not take an oath by your head, because you are not able to make one hair white or black.

Then ¹  I looked when the Lamb opened the sixth seal, and a huge ²  earthquake took place; the sun became as black as sackcloth made of hair, ³  and the full moon became blood red; ⁴ 

Meanwhile the sky was covered with dark clouds, the wind blew, and there was a heavy rainstorm. Ahab rode toward ¹  Jezreel.

These are the ones you may not eat: the eagle, ¹  the vulture, ²  the black vulture, ³ 

Let darkness and the deepest shadow ¹  claim it; ²  let a cloud settle on it; let whatever blackens the day ³  terrify it!

the kite, the black kite, the dayyah ¹  after its species,

Because of this the land will mourn and the sky above will grow black. ¹  For I have made my purpose known ²  and I will not relent or turn back from carrying it out.” ³ 

Our skin is hot as an oven due to a fever from hunger. ¹

These men ¹  are waterless springs and mists driven by a storm, for whom the utter depths of darkness ²  have been reserved.
