Look ¹  at its strength in its loins, and its power in the muscles of its belly.

The righteous has enough food to satisfy his appetite, ¹  but the belly of the wicked lacks food. ² 

Jonah prayed to the Lord his God from the stomach of the fish

Ehud reached with his left hand, pulled the sword from his right thigh, and drove it into Eglon’s ¹  belly.

For just as Jonah was in the belly of the huge fish ¹  for three days and three nights, ²  so the Son of Man will be in the heart of the earth for three days and three nights.

Your navel ¹  is a round mixing bowl ²  – may it never lack ³  mixed wine! ⁴  Your belly ⁵  is a mound of wheat, encircled ⁶  by lilies.

Their end is destruction, their god is the belly, they exult in their shame, and they think about earthly things. ¹ 

The Lord God said to the serpent, ¹  “Because you have done this, cursed ²  are you above all the wild beasts and all the living creatures of the field! On your belly you will crawl ³  and dust you will eat ⁴  all the days of your life.

For he knows no satisfaction in his appetite; ¹  he does not let anything he desires ²  escape. ³ 

They conceive ¹  trouble and bring forth evil; their belly ²  prepares deception.”
