Then I will summon ¹  as my reliable witnesses Uriah the priest and Zechariah son of Jeberekiah.”

“Men of Israel, ¹  listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man clearly attested to you by God with powerful deeds, ²  wonders, and miraculous signs ³  that God performed among you through him, just as you yourselves know –

For here is the testimony about him: ¹  “You are a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.” ² 

who gave himself as a ransom for all, revealing God’s purpose at his appointed time. ¹ 

(Now this used to be the customary way to finalize a transaction involving redemption in Israel: ¹  A man would remove his sandal and give it to the other party. ²  This was a legally binding act ³  in Israel.)

But now ¹  apart from the law the righteousness of God (which is attested by the law and the prophets) ²  has been disclosed –

The heavens declare his fairness, ¹  for God is judge. ²  (Selah)

But carefully select from among you, brothers, ¹  seven ²  men who are well-attested, ³  full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may put in charge ⁴  of this necessary task. ⁵ 

how will we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? It was first communicated through the Lord and was confirmed to us by those who heard him,

All Israel from Dan to Beer Sheba realized that Samuel was confirmed as a prophet of the Lord.

Now when the Pharisees ¹  and Sadducees ²  came to test Jesus, ³  they asked him to show them a sign from heaven. ⁴ 

These signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new languages; ¹ 

and said, “This is the blood of the covenant that God has commanded you to keep.” ¹ 

Then the Pharisees ¹  came and began to argue with Jesus, asking for ²  a sign from heaven ³  to test him.

They went out and proclaimed everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the word through the accompanying signs.]]

Then the priest will put the woman under the oath of the curse ¹  and will say ²  to the her, “The Lord make you an attested curse ³  among your people, ⁴  if the Lord makes ⁵  your thigh fall away ⁶  and your abdomen swell; ⁷ 

But I do not consider my life ¹  worth anything ²  to myself, so that ³  I may finish my task ⁴  and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the good news ⁵  of God’s grace.

and has a reputation for good works: as one who has raised children, ¹  practiced hospitality, washed the feet of the saints, helped those in distress – as one who has exhibited all kinds of good works. ² 

By faith Enoch was taken up so that he did not see death, and he was not to be found because God took him up. For before his removal he had been commended as having pleased God.

(The one who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; the one who does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has testified concerning his Son.) ¹
