Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time ¹  for prayer, ²  at three o’clock in the afternoon. ³ 

Jesus ¹  answered, ²  “Come and you will see.” So they came and saw where he was staying, and they stayed with him that day. Now it was about four o’clock in the afternoon. ³ 

So he asked them the time ¹  when his condition began to improve, ²  and ³  they told him, “Yesterday at one o’clock in the afternoon ⁴  the fever left him.”

About three o’clock one afternoon ¹  he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God ²  who came in ³  and said to him, “Cornelius.”

It was now ¹  about noon, ²  and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon, ³ 

He woke up early in the morning on the fifth day so he could leave, but the girl’s father said, “Get some energy. ¹  Wait until later in the day to leave!” ²  So they ate a meal together.

Cornelius ¹  replied, ²  “Four days ago at this very hour, at three o’clock in the afternoon, ³  I was praying in my house, and suddenly ⁴  a man in shining clothing stood before me

Now ¹  when it was noon, ²  darkness came over the whole land ³  until three in the afternoon. ⁴ 

One evening David got up from his bed and walked around on the roof of his palace. ¹  From the roof he saw a woman bathing. Now this woman was very attractive. ² 

It was the day of preparation ¹  and the Sabbath was beginning. ² 

Under the lotus trees it lies, in the secrecy of the reeds and the marsh.

Throughout the afternoon they were in an ecstatic frenzy, ¹  but there was no sound, no answer, and no response. ² 

The first lamb you must offer in the morning, and the second lamb you must offer in the late afternoon, ¹ 

When ¹  you lie down you will not be filled with fear; ²  when ³  you lie down your sleep will be pleasant. ⁴ 

Jesus spoke all these things in parables to the crowds; he did not speak to them without a parable.

So they went. When ¹  he went out again about noon and three o’clock that afternoon, ²  he did the same thing.

Now from noon until three, ¹  darkness came over all the land. ² 

Now ¹  when it was evening, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who was also a disciple of Jesus. ² 

Now ¹  when evening had already come, since it was the day of preparation (that is, the day before the Sabbath), ² 

Now the day began to draw to a close, ¹  so ²  the twelve came and said to Jesus, ³  “Send the crowd away, so they can go into the surrounding villages and countryside and find lodging ⁴  and food, because we are in an isolated place.” ⁵
