These things happened in Bethany ¹  across the Jordan River ²  where John was baptizing.

They took all the Amorite territory from the Arnon River on the south to the Jabbok River on the north, from the desert in the east to the Jordan in the west. ¹ 

So he went with them. When they arrived at the Jordan, they started cutting down trees.

The sea looked and fled; ¹  the Jordan River ²  turned back. ³ 

and he was baptizing them ¹  in the Jordan River as they confessed their sins.

Then Jesus came from Galilee to John to be baptized by him in the Jordan River. ¹ 

tell them how the water of the Jordan stopped flowing ¹  before the ark of the covenant of the Lord. When it crossed the Jordan, the water of the Jordan stopped flowing. ²  These stones will be a lasting memorial for the Israelites.”

Then Moses selected three cities in the Transjordan, toward the east.

“Instruct the priests carrying the ark of the covenantal laws ¹  to come up from the Jordan.”

So Joshua instructed the priests, “Come up from the Jordan!”

The eastern border was the Salt Sea to the mouth ¹  of the Jordan River. ²  The northern border started north of the Salt Sea at the mouth of the Jordan, ³ 

The Reubenites, Gadites, and half-tribe of Manasseh came to Geliloth near the Jordan in the land of Canaan and built there, near the Jordan, an impressive altar. ¹ 

For we will not accept any inheritance on the other side of the Jordan River ¹  and beyond, because our inheritance has come to us on this eastern side of the Jordan.”

So the king returned and came to the Jordan River. ¹  Now the people of Judah ²  had come to Gilgal to meet the king and to help him ³  cross the Jordan.

So David and all the people who were with him got up and crossed the Jordan River. ¹  By dawn there was not one person left who had not crossed the Jordan.

Instruct the priests carrying the ark of the covenant, ‘When you reach the bank of the Jordan River, ¹  wade into the water.’” ² 

Now when Barzillai the Gileadite had come down from Rogelim, he crossed the Jordan with the king so he could send him on his way from there. ¹ 

¹ The Israelites traveled on ²  and camped in the plains of Moab on the side of the Jordan River ³  across from Jericho. ⁴ 

So Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke with them in the plains of Moab, by the Jordan River ¹  across from Jericho. ²  They said,

They traveled from the mountains of Abarim and camped in the plains of Moab by the Jordan River ¹  across from Jericho. ²
