The one true God ¹  completely vindicates me; ²  he makes nations submit to me. ³ 

Yes, ¹  they intend to do you harm; ²  they dream up a scheme, ³  but they do not succeed. ⁴ 

I did not harm them, but they hid a net to catch me and dug a pit to trap me. ¹ 

All who hate me whisper insults about me to one another; ¹  they plan ways to harm me.

From harm and violence he will defend them; ¹  he will value their lives. ²

The one who puts up security for a stranger ¹  will surely have trouble, ²  but whoever avoids ³  shaking hands ⁴  will be secure.

The one who refuses correction despises himself, ¹  but whoever hears ²  reproof acquires understanding. ³ 

A violent person ¹  entices ²  his neighbor, and leads him down a path that is terrible. ³ 

A person who has friends ¹  may be harmed by them, ²  but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

The appetite ¹  of the wicked desires ²  evil; his neighbor is shown no favor ³  in his eyes.

Like a club or a sword or a sharp arrow, ¹  so is the one who testifies against ²  his neighbor as a false witness. ³ 

The one who walks blamelessly will be delivered, ¹  but whoever is perverse in his ways will fall ²  at once. ³ 

To show partiality ¹  is terrible, ²  for a person will transgress over the smallest piece of bread. ³ 

Syria has plotted with Ephraim and the son of Remaliah to bring about your demise. ¹
