The Spirit is the one who gives life; human nature is of no help! ¹  The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life. ² 

Jesus replied, ¹  “If I have said something wrong, ²  confirm ³  what is wrong. ⁴  But if I spoke correctly, why strike me?”

Now Moses was faithful in all God’s ¹  house ²  as a servant, to testify to the things that would be spoken.

I will place my breath ¹  in you and you will live; I will give you rest in your own land. Then you will know that I am the Lord – I have spoken and I will act, declares the Lord.’”

The descendants of Jacob will be a fire, and the descendants of Joseph a flame. The descendants of Esau will be like stubble. They will burn them up and devour them. There will not be a single survivor ¹  of the descendants of Esau!” Indeed, the Lord has spoken it.

But Barnabas took ¹  Saul, ²  brought ³  him to the apostles, and related to them how he had seen the Lord on the road, that ⁴  the Lord had spoken to him, and how in Damascus he had spoken out boldly ⁵  in the name of Jesus.

in these last days he has spoken to us in a son, ¹  whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he created the world. ² 

to execute judgment on ¹  all, and to convict every person ²  of all their thoroughly ungodly deeds ³  that they have committed, ⁴  and of all the harsh words that ungodly sinners have spoken against him.” ⁵ 

Some were convinced ¹  by what he said, ²  but others refused ³  to believe.

So Balak did just as Balaam had said. Balak and Balaam then offered on each ¹  altar a bull and a ram.
