He must eat the same share they do, despite any profits he may gain from the sale of his family’s inheritance. ¹ 

besides what he collected from the merchants, ¹  traders, Arabian kings, and governors of the land.

So how can you console me with your futile words? Nothing is left of your answers but deception!” ¹ 

They destroy ¹  my path; they succeed in destroying me ²  without anyone assisting ³  them.

if I have eaten its produce without paying, ¹  or caused the death ²  of its owners, ³ 

Your wickedness affects only ¹  a person like yourself, and your righteousness only other people. ² 

So Job opens his mouth to no purpose; ¹  without knowledge he multiplies words.”

I was stone silent; ¹  I held back the urge to speak. ²  My frustration grew; ³ 

You sold ¹  your people for a pittance; ²  you did not ask a high price for them. ³ 

May the creditor seize ¹  all he owns! May strangers loot his property! ² 

How will he severely punish you, you deceptive talker? ¹ 

In the house ¹  of the righteous is abundant wealth, ²  but the income of the wicked brings trouble. ³ 

The plans of the diligent ¹  lead ²  only to plenty, ³  but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty. ⁴ 

The one who increases his wealth by increasing interest ¹  gathers it for someone who is gracious ²  to the needy.

The greedy person ¹  stirs up dissension, ²  but the one who trusts ³  in the Lord will prosper. ⁴ 

The heart of her husband has confidence ¹  in her, and he has no lack of gain. ² 

You conceive straw, ¹  you give birth to chaff; your breath is a fire that destroys you. ² 

The ¹  disciples said to him, “If this is the case of a husband with a wife, it is better not to marry!”

When the harvest time was near, he sent his slaves ¹  to the tenants to collect his portion of the crop. ² 

They worship me in vain, teaching as doctrine the commandments of men.’ ¹
