Why ¹  do you see the speck ²  in your brother’s eye, but fail to see ³  the beam of wood ⁴  in your own?

Or how can you say ¹  to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye,’ while there is a beam in your own?

You hypocrite! First remove the beam from your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

Then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you. Go away from me, you lawbreakers!’ ¹ 

No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, because the patch will pull away from the garment and the tear will be worse.

They ¹  all ate and were satisfied, and they picked up the broken pieces left over, seven baskets full.

and said, “What will you give me to betray him into your hands?” ¹  So they set out thirty silver coins for him.

Now when ¹  Judas, who had betrayed him, saw that Jesus ²  had been condemned, he regretted what he had done and returned the thirty silver coins to the chief priests and the elders,

Then ¹  when she has found it, she calls together her ²  friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice ³  with me, for I have found the coin ⁴  that I had lost.’
