Each will sit under his own grapevine or under his own fig tree without any fear. ¹  The Lord who commands armies has decreed it. ² 

Then ¹  they went out and ran from the tomb, for terror and bewilderment had seized them. ²  And they said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid.

“I ¹  tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, ²  and after that have nothing more they can do.

and said, ¹  ‘Do not be afraid, Paul! You must stand before ²  Caesar, ³  and God has graciously granted you the safety ⁴  of all who are sailing with you.’

When ¹  I saw him I fell down at his feet as though I were dead, but ²  he placed his right hand on me and said: “Do not be afraid! I am the first and the last,

The Lord told Joshua, “Don’t be afraid of them, for about this time tomorrow I will cause all of them to lie dead before Israel. You must hamstring their horses and burn ¹  their chariots.”

and they are afraid of heights and the dangers ¹  in the street; the almond blossoms ²  grow white, ³  and the grasshopper ⁴  drags itself along, ⁵  and the caper berry ⁶  shrivels up ⁷  – because man goes to his eternal home, ⁸  and the mourners go about in the streets –

Ish-bosheth ¹  was unable to answer Abner with even a single word because he was afraid of him.

Adonijah feared Solomon, so he got up and went and grabbed hold of the horns of the altar. ¹ 

Jehoshaphat was afraid, so he decided to seek the Lord’s advice. ¹  He decreed that all Judah should observe a fast.

Would not his splendor ¹  terrify ²  you and the fear he inspires ³  fall on you?

That is why I am terrified in his presence; when I consider, I am afraid because of him.

Therefore no fear of me should terrify you, nor should my pressure ¹  be heavy on you. ² 

The Lord is on my side, ¹  I am not afraid! What can people do to me? ² 

Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. From the east I will bring your descendants; from the west I will gather you.

On that day they will say ¹  to Jerusalem, “Don’t be afraid, Zion! Your hands must not be paralyzed from panic! ² 

so, to the contrary, I have planned in these days to do good to Jerusalem and Judah – do not fear!

So do not be afraid; ¹  you are more valuable than many sparrows.

Although ¹  Herod ²  wanted to kill John, ³  he feared the crowd because they accepted John as a prophet.

But if we say, ‘From people,’ we fear the crowd, for they all consider John to be a prophet.”
