Your eyes will see strange things, ¹  and your mind will speak perverse things.

The one who walks blamelessly will be delivered, ¹  but whoever is perverse in his ways will fall ²  at once. ³ 

The wind goes to the south and circles around to the north; round and round ¹  the wind goes and on its rounds it returns. ² 

Those who make cloth ¹  will be demoralized; ²  all the hired workers will be depressed. ³ 

The human mind is more deceitful than anything else. It is incurably bad. ¹  Who can understand it?

All the inhabitants of the coastlands are shocked at you, and their kings are horribly afraid – their faces are troubled.

The businessmen love to cheat; ¹  they use dishonest scales. ² 

The Israelites ¹  turn justice into bitterness; ²  they throw what is fair and right ³  to the ground. ⁴ 

You know ¹  that such a person is twisted by sin ²  and is conscious of it himself. ³ 

You must no longer say that the Lord’s message is burdensome. ¹  For what is ‘burdensome’ ²  really pertains to what a person himself says. ³  You are misrepresenting ⁴  the words of our God, the living God, the Lord who rules over all. ⁵ 

so that you may be blameless and pure, children of God without blemish though you live in a crooked and perverse society, in which you shine as lights in the world ¹ 

Twist and strain, ¹  Daughter Zion, as if you were in labor! For you will leave the city and live in the open field. You will go to Babylon, but there you will be rescued. There the Lord will deliver ²  you from the power ³  of your enemies.

You are to make loops of blue material along the edge of the end curtain in one set, and in the same way you are to make loops ¹  in the outer edge of the end curtain in the second set.

You are to make fifty bronze clasps and put the clasps into the loops and join the tent together so that it is a unit. ¹ 

You are to engrave the two stones with the names of the sons of Israel with the work of an engraver in stone, like the engravings of a seal; ¹  you are to have them set ²  in gold filigree ³  settings.

They hammered the gold into thin sheets and cut it into narrow strips to weave ¹  them into the blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and into the fine linen, the work of an artistic designer.
