But the Lord struck Pharaoh and his household with severe diseases ¹  because of Sarai, Abram’s wife.

The previous abundance of the land will not be remembered ¹  because of the famine that follows, for the famine will be very severe. ² 

I sent Moses and Aaron, and I struck Egypt down when I intervened in their land. ¹  Then I brought you out.

This ought not to be, ¹  my sons! For the report that I hear circulating among the Lord’s people is not good.

After all this happened, the Lord afflicted him with an incurable intestinal disease. ¹ 

It eats away parts of his skin; ¹  the most terrible death ²  devours his limbs.

For the sovereign Lord ¹  is awe-inspiring; ²  he is the great king who rules the whole earth! ³ 

For the Lord is great and certainly worthy of praise; he is more awesome than all gods. ¹ 

O sovereign Lord, ¹  at your right hand he strikes down ²  kings in the day he unleashes his anger. ³ 

ד (Dalet) I collapse in the dirt. ¹  Revive me with your word! ² 

I am suffering terribly. O Lord, revive me with your word! ¹ 

A violent person ¹  entices ²  his neighbor, and leads him down a path that is terrible. ³ 

It is terrible ¹  to punish ²  a righteous person, and to flog ³  honorable men is wrong. ⁴ 

It is terrible ¹  to show partiality ²  to the wicked, ³  by depriving ⁴  a righteous man of justice.

These sayings also are from the wise: To show partiality ¹  in judgment is terrible: ² 

To show partiality ¹  is terrible, ²  for a person will transgress over the smallest piece of bread. ³ 

The sound of battle comes from the city; the sound comes from the temple! It is the sound of the Lord paying back his enemies.

I made all of these other people drink it: Pharaoh, king of Egypt; ¹  his attendants, his officials, his people,

Moreover, ¹  the Lord says to the people of Zion, ²  “Your injuries are incurable; your wounds are severe. ³ 

(Make the chain, ¹  because the land is full of murder ²  and the city is full of violence.)
